Review of Fantasia (1940) by Michelle W — 12 Jan 2014
Incredible, courageous, beautiful and effortless, nothing beats Fantasia as the best animated musical ever. This is a masterpiece, it's such an original concept, especially for a Disney film as the Renaissance started with the greats like Snow White and Pinocchio, but this was breathtaking.
The song selections were note perfect, the imagery was great and the moral feeling of the orchestra playing those songs made the film believable and true.I was completely shocked because I hadn't expected such glory and emotion to come through, and it's just tremendous, one of the Disney greats that's just amazing.
Even though night on bald mountain was quite scary and a bit disturbing, I absolutely wouldn't change a thing. What I adore about this film is that it thinks it's art, they don't literally make you to understand that, the way they presented it was fabulous, and I will never forget this film, it really is my pleasure and my passion for music and art.
