Review of Fahrenheit 451 (1966) by Kaitlyn M — 29 Jan 2010
Well, what can I say? truffaut adapting bradbury. it had to be a masterpiece. and it is!! I loved all the settings and the 60s future, the fx are so naive and cocteau-like that they almost made me cry with joy.
a horrific film. the story is amazing in itself, so it's quite difficult to go wrong there (specially as it remains faithful to the book), but truffaut's genius added yet another layer. an example? as the written word is forbidden, the opening credits are just stills and a disembodied voice just reads the names out loud.
as I said, genius.
