Review of F for Fake (1973) by Juha R — 29 Apr 2008
Possibly Welles' best film, and certainly his most profound. 'F for Fake' is an oddly metaphysical faux-documentary about art and forgery that is required viewing for any aesthetics class. It is also a highly auto-biographical film that sums up Welles' lifework.
A genuine masterpiece and a grand swansong from the revered auteur.
