Review of Extraterrestrial (2011) by Walter M — 19 Jun 2013
This quirky and weird mix of bare sci-fi and romantic comedy is low budget, but still enjoyable. A designer named Julio wakes up next to a beautiful woman after a one night stand, but everyone else is gone. Giant alien saucers have come down and they must contend with a nosy neighbour and on the rocks boyfriend.
Sometimes the pacing is a bit off because the movie is so bare, but it finally pays off with a few weird plot points. The acting and visual effects are decent, but this movie has nothing on Nacho Vigalondo's last movie, the twisted Timecrimes.
