Review of Empire of Silver (2009) by Kathy K — 06 May 2012
This is a curiosity... a Chinese period piece not about emperors, but the development of the banking system and paper money in particular.
It reminded me of The Godfather in many ways and cries out for a sequel (or two).
Approach as a wet Sunday film and you might just be pleasantly surprised.
