Review of Dying Breed (2008) by Stephanie A — 02 Apr 2010
I think it's pretty obvious from the start what this movie is leaning towards and that is what you get. Based on an escaped convict in Tasmania who was the last to survive his fellow escapees by eating them, this is a very loosely fictional based idea.
Of course they run into a sinister little place where the 'meat' pies are so tasty! There are hillbillies galore for them to freak out about. I did enjoy this movie even if it was a little far fetched, but who knows what lurks in the depths of south-west Tassie which is inpenetrable by car.
As they stated at the end of the movie over 200 people have been reported missing there. Made into pies or got lost in the vast beautiful wilderness? Who knows...
