Along with The Triumph of the Nerds, this documentary should be in the pantheon of "must-see films about the evolution of humanity." Besides telling the history of Napster as seen through the eyes of its founders, employees, and even critics, Downloaded presents the dawn of the New Economy and of social networking.
It gave us file sharing and digital distribution, which is the prevailing format of sales today. The film does a great job of giving us the mechanics of game change.
