Review of Dororo (2007) by Cli O — 02 Dec 2008
Dororo is a definite must for fantasy fans. This is set in a sort of Middle Earth-type setting... but Asian. There's a warlord who wants to rule the world, and makes a deal with 48 demons to sell them the 48 body parts of his unborn son in exchange for the power to rule the world.
The son is born... without any body parts... but is raised by an alchemist, who gives him magical parts, so that he can grow up and survive. When he comes of age, he goes on a quest to kill those demons and take the body parts that belong to him.
He's assisted on his quest by a female thief, who's been raised to believe she's a man. There's a good amount of action (although the CG is pretty awful), adventure, and comedy -- and a couple tear-jerking moments; plus the main characters are pretty good-looking.
Kind of long, but really fun. Especially if you've ever played D&D.
