Writer/ Director Jared Hess, most famous for Napoleon Dynamite makes movies that seem to take place in a world adjacent to ours. They can be a bit cartoonish, loosely plotted and with plot holes that would be an issue if they were meant to have a semblance of reality, but if one's expectation are to watch a Jared Hess movie, they are funny, weird and sweetly entertaining.
