Review of Dog Bite Dog (2006) by Veronica A — 26 Jan 2008
This film completely caught me off guard. For most of the movie I was impressed with the extremely violent nature of all the characters. I thought I was in for a night of mindless violence but as the movie progressed, it became clear that this was an all too realistic exploration of survival, revenge, and tenderness.
It's humanity at its core. You want to hate certain characters but in the end, you find yourself identifying with all of them. This is truly one of the most sophisticated tragedies I've ever seen with a subtle but gut-wrenching soundtrack to boot.
