Review of Do the Right Thing (1997) by Gianluca F — 13 Jan 2010
Landmark film for Spike Lee. Lee tells a powerful picture about race and class and poetry and humour and tragedy. Everybody is guilty in this film. It is beautifully photograph by Ernest Dickerson and very well directed by Lee who also puts in a steller performance as Mookie.
My fav scene is when Lee's sister comes in to by pizza and Lee and John Turturro's character exchanges eye contact. I imediately thought there was going to be instant bloodshed but the way how Barry Alexander Brown cut that scene is something i'll never forget.
