Review of Django (1966) by Matthew W — 03 Sep 2009
A worthy entry in the Spaghetti-Western genre, 'Django' isn't just another 'Yojimbo' remake. Short and simple, but also brutal and action-packed, the film manages to create some rather epic scenes for a story that pretty much takes place in a small town.
Fraco Nero's title character has much more dimension than the 'Man-With-No-Name' rip-off he easily could have become. Not as memorable or iconic as the 'Dollars' trilogy (although I would rate this film higher than 'A Fistful of Dollars') but the movie is still great nonetheless.
