Review of Dirty Wars (2013) by Phil S — 30 Jan 2014
Scahill becomes the star of his own movie, like Redford in All the President's Men, digging into the paradox of a government coverup that reveals a much larger and more frightening reality -- that America is fighting a secret and unauthorized war in dozens of countries, killing with impunity, even when innocents die as collateral damage.
Don't look for he-said/she-said balance here: this is a relentless investigative report which unfolds like a mystery story, even when we already know some of the clues. Scahill makes a cogent case.
Chilling.
