Review of Devdas (2002) by Roger I — 03 Jul 2007
If Romeo & Juliet is the father of the standard romance archetype, then Devdas is the manifestation of perfection when it comes to romance. Hands down the best Bollywood film produced, a film where the songs actually mean something and isn't random jargon thrown in for the culturally necessary dance to get your jollies out moment of a movie.
Devdas is truly the perfect romance. Aside from a few moments of comedy and mediocrity this film delivers full force. Truly amazing.
