Review of Detroit (2017) by Liubo A — 07 Jan 2018
Kathryn Bigelow is now 3 for 3 and this is a hard hitting film that is extremely hard to watch during the brutality scene. This film should have come out just before the rewards season instead of mid year as this film vanished in a poor box office year.
The film is hard hitting and the acting is faultless, even if the ending is a little underwhelming but it is a real life story. Will Poulter is the key ingredient here and the unpredictability of his character makes for some hair raising moments.
The film is well made and Bigelow is growing as a dramatic film director, a long way from Point Break. Grim story indeed and a shameful memory of events that aren't that long ago. 07/01/2017.
