Review of Dear Wendy (2005) by Seyithan S — 23 May 2008
A teen movie written by Lars Von Trier!!!! But not directed by him!!! This is quite a good thing as if he had directed it I would have to imagine Jamie Bell in tears, and I don't want to think about that.
It would be like seeing a puppy get kicked. All in all I get a film that skewers young idealists while also embracing the romanticism of every great squid-black teen movie. I'm suprised that most people find it heavy handed, once the sledgehammer smashes you over the head there is a lot of glitter in the smashed debris of your head on the concrete.
