Review of Dear Heart (1965) by Greg W — 02 Feb 2014
Offbeat romance between traveling salesman Glenn Ford and quirky postmistress Geraldine Page. Not a very successful film when it came out, but this is one that deserves a second look from audiences. I'd never heard of this film before, but I'm a big Glenn Ford fan, which is why I decided watch it.
Director Delbert Mann brings the same kind of rich characterization be brought to "Marty" and there is a top notch supporting cast, that includes Angela Lansbury and Richard Deacon. Then top it off with a fine Henry Mancini and you have a seriously underrated film!
