Review of Dead Draw (2016) by Angus M — 26 Jan 2018
A by-the-numbers genre thriller. Reasonably scripted, but it could've done with another twist in the second act, and a little more polish. Obvious debt to Reservoir Dogs, but with none of Tarantino's kinetic camera work or eclectic music, opting instead for a sparse wintry aesthetic, reminded me of Insomnia or Fargo.
Competently put together, but a little flat-footed.
