Review of Days and Clouds (2007) by Peter E — 18 Aug 2009
An excellent, moving film with terrific lead performances by Albanese and Buy. Soldini does an excellent job at focusing on and examining how a couple meets with a very difficult problem and how each goes about coping with that problem.
The screenplay rings true and genuine and the chemistry between the two leads is natural and arresting. Albanese is especially effective, showing a wide range here. You feel tremendous empathy for him, but also want to shake some sense into him later in the film.
A wonderful study...sad, conflicting and eye-opening.
