Review of Daydream Nation (2011) by Tom B — 29 Dec 2011
A modern, cult-like TV styled movie about a teenage girl. Kat Dennings is the lead, a questionable and unlike-able force, who begins a love affair triangle with a teacher and fellow student. All this happens oddly whilst a serial killer is on the loose, in the countryside backdrop of rural America.
I found it rather slow, dull, contrived and with a main lead who fails to captivate or titilate like the idea should. It attempts to be clever and incisive but I would argue it simply isn't. A teen film, with teens, for teens.
