Review of Day for Night (1973) by Bach P — 30 Nov 2007
A film about films, "a movie for people who love movies". "Day for Night" is a wickedly fun comedy about the ridiculous in's and out's of filming. It moves from one fallout to another, things happen, some for reasons we'll never understand, and other things happen, for reasons we'll spend the rest of our lives wondering why they did.
Relationships are broken, one sexual act to another destroys multiple careers, a women fails at the concept of doors and a darn cat never seems to get its scene right. These are just a few of the random mishaps through Traffaut's "Day for Night".
In the end though, despite the atrocities and mishaps of utter proportions, "Day and Night" is a film for those who love film, and that of all things is most apparent. Picture perfect.
