Review of Dark Water (2002) by Julio D — 13 Sep 2013
The ratio of good to bad aspects of this movie is around 10 to 1. Allow me to first mention the good: firstly, the story line is riveting and suspenseful--often times unpredictable too. Second, the atmosphere is incredible and quite unsettling. Furthermore, the acting is good, the characters are interesting, and the special effects are clever.
The only so-so aspect of the film is the dearth of scares. Honestly, there were some parts that could have been scary, had the music and buildup been better implemented. Since this is a horror movie, this is indeed a huge deal, but certainly not enough to undermine its many positive qualities as stated above.
4/5.
