Review of Danger: Diabolik (1968) by Ryan B — 09 Jun 2007
A superbly entertaining, visually amazing bad-ass piece of late '60s filmmaking. Italian cinematographer-turned-director Mario Bava displays his usual eye-popping visuals dripping with beautifully saturated, almost psychedelic colors.
The plot? Well, just imagine James Bond is an Italian superspy with a beautiful female sidekick, an arsenal of amazing gadetry, and an enormous subterrenean hideout. Oh, and he's a criminal supervillain.
One of my favorite movies of all time.
