One of the better teen dramas I've ever seen, "Sekachuu", as it's called by fans, actually did leave an imprint on me. It's well told, never campy or relying on cheap plot twists to handle the delicate theme.
And yes, it's a tearjerker, so be prepared. Highly recommended all the same.
