Definitely the best Takashi Miike movie in a while. It had a little melodrama that seemed super unnecessary, but was otherwise pretty action packed and fun. Way more inline with the Dead or Alive flicks than recent stuff like Izo and Big Bang Juvenile A.
Though I did like those for a change of pace. There is something about high school kid gang movies that are really appealing to me. The bootleg dvd of it had problems though, it was a bit "stuttery", so smooth shots stuttered a bit.
after a while I stopped noticing but it was there the whole time.
