Ozon's masterpiece. A fairy tale that moves from the realistic to the fantastic....gradually. The theme: manipulation in human relationships. Only when these lovers go through through the trauma of captivity and kidnapping are they able to love each other.
Then they go to prison. How French. No feel good romance here. Wonderful.
