Review of Creep 2 (2017) by Clare D — 31 Oct 2018
Let me just start by saying I was not a fan of the original Creep film. It's not the genre (or subgenre) of film I typically watch. I felt this one started off the same way and I was going to turn it off at some point, but then it got really interesting.
The protagonist, Sara, is awesome. Beautiful, funny, calm... she's the perfect woman for the job of documenting the creep's life. Without giving away the secrets of the movie or the ultimate secret, which is a layer upon itself, you have to hold this film in high regard and one day you will come back to it and say "Really? Oh my god.
.. that film is groundbreaking in so many ways!" The brooding, "creepy" moments are perfect and spaced nicely throughout the film. You do feel a sense of dread one moment and a humorous one the next.
I really enjoyed this and didn't expect the ending. Mark Duplass and Desiree Akhavan did a great job.
