I generally find Tim Allen to be funnier than most people do and enjoy his movies. This one, not so much. The thematic elements are too cliche' and the characters are paper doll like cutouts. There is just not much to sink your teeth into here.
Allen's comedic timing is still on and his droll delivery make it worth a look, but it is not one of his better movies.
