An assured effort which sort of plays out like Dead Poets Society-Gone wrong, with a charismatic teacher becoming obsessed with one of her students, to the annoyance of her former-star pupil. It features strong performances and picturesque cinematography.
Its pace sometimes lets it down, but on the whole it keeps you intrigued.
