Review of Contamination (1980) by Keenan S — 13 Apr 2018
Contamination is an Alien rip off...and I love this damn film. It's so over the top goofy, filled with gore (Of course I watched the uncut version), cheesy acting, cheesy special effects, and a kick-ass music score by Goblin (Who you may remember as doing the music for the 1978 version of Dawn of the Dead).
Not only is the film a rip off of Alien, but it also appears to take cues from James Bond films, making for a pretty strange combo (Ever see a science-fiction film where the showdown with an alien takes place at a Colombian coffee plantation?).
If you enjoy goofy, nonsensical sci-fi/horror films, Contamination is pure joy to watch - be sure to get the uncut version, though. Got to have all the gore, baby.
