Review of Columbus (2017) by Joshua H — 12 Apr 2017
Ekphrasis on steroids. The intimate shots of Columbus, Indiana's much-lauded architecture provide this movie such a rich and enticing setting that the viewer can almost feel the moist brick and concrete on his/her fingertips.
The gentle, moving interactions between the well-crafted characters play perfectly in this setting, highlighting the notion that much of life occurs in the cracks, e.i. in those moments that arise and thrive in between so-called "big, life events.
