Review of Coco (2017) by Simon P — 15 Jun 2018
Coco is about a young Mexican boy named Miguel and his great grandmother named Coco. I was wondering why the title was short but very intricate to the storyline. Miguel wants to be a musician but the family curse prohibits him from pursuing his dream.
With the power of a magical guitar Miguel is transformed to the afterlife and meets his ancestors. From the beginning the script felt predictable but the twist grabbed me, made me feel vulnerable, to the point that I cried.
Coco was touching, funny, sad, full of life and the animation is spot on, beautiful and it makes you feel like it's real. The movie was a masterpiece, I loved it, especially the meaning of family and we should never forgot our family those living and this that have passed away.
