Review of Coach Carter (2005) by Russell G — 11 Dec 2011
This movie effectively renders a sad life, in a school system that people have given up on, where far too many kids are forced to grow up. Sam Jackson is amazing as he plays a no-nonsense coach that values students staying out of trouble, getting an education and becoming responsible adults.
He is firm and demanding but also is protective and compassionate. It is very inspiring to see a series of characters on a path to nowhere have their lives turned around by a strong constant positive role model in their lives.
It will pull at your heartstrings and put a smile on your face. This movie is an inspiring strong statement that it is not about winning games but about winning in life.
