I had high hopes for this movie as I loved Fitzgerald's surreal and moving "Hanging Garden". This movie was just a little too "Canadian" - very contrived, the ending painfully pat.
The stabs at wacky comedy somehow ring false. What happened to Fitzgerald's startling originality? Too bad.
