Review of Clean, Shaven (1995) by Cillver B — 23 Aug 2009
Lodge Kerrigan's first film is a labour of love and a major inspiration for independent filmmakers. Is the main protagonist a child killer? Or does he just suffer from schizophrenia? Perhaps both. The sound design is what sets this gem apart.
Its continuously watchable and I was thrilled to see that Criterion picked it up for release. A fresh and highly original debut.
