Review of Chaplin (1992) by Mike C — 29 Aug 2008
Robert Downey Jr. morphs into a legend in one of his greatest performances. This masterpiece effectively celebrates the life of Charlie Chaplin while also motivating myself to be creative. It inspired me to get up and do something with my talents that not only means something to myself, but also says something about the world I live in. To me, a movie that can motivate me beyond the screen, is truly unique and great.
It is also a great way to introduce yourself to Charlie Chaplin films. Silent films can sometimes be difficult to get into because we live in a completely different era in movies. His films are definitely worth a watch though. The comedy holds up to this day. City Lights is my personal favorite and The Kid and Modern Times definitely stand out as well.
