Review of Chalte Chalte (2003) by Lonnie H — 12 Dec 2007
Chalte Chalte is a film that can be described in two words: emotional rollercoaster. the beginning of the film is a blast, when SRK is attempting to woo Rani. songs are a lot of fun at this point (Gum Shuda is fantastic) and Rani is drop-dead gorgeous (but what else do you expect from the Queen of Bollywood?).
then comes the second part. the fairy-tale love story comes crashing back to reality but this does not mean the film deteriorates. the movie is astounding. the last few scenes contain some of the best acting I have ever seen from SRK.
ever. also, I cannot believe Rani did not win best actress. an absolute travesty of justice. this is a tremendous bollywood love story that has it all: great acting, great songs, comedy, romance, emotions.
TREMENDOUS film.
