Review of Casque d'Or (1952) by Tim R — 29 Jan 2008
An exceptional peek into La Belle Epoque. Beautifully photographed, with a stunning interpretation of "coup de foudre" by the camera man. Saucy melodrama all round: though in gorgeous black and white the sets and costumes at once bring Seurat, Renoir and turn of the century Picasso to mind.
