Review of Casque d'Or (1952) by Christopher B — 04 Aug 2007
One of the most beautiful of movies, so elegant and masterfully composed that it barely registers that you're watching a tale of infighting between ex-cons, pimps, and whores. Signoret was never more gorgeous or deep, and Reggiani is an unorthodox but inspired choice as the instant love of her life.
Not an instant of this film is misjudged - it's timeless.
