Review of Carousel (1956) by Elizabeth N — 19 Aug 2007
An amazing film. It had the perfect amount of happiness and humour to help balance out the upsetting parts. Although not the best musical in terms of the musical numbers, it being hard to hear 'You'll Never Walk Alone' in this day and age without thinking of Liverpool FC (although I did like 'That Was A Real Nice Clam Bake' and 'June Is Busting Out All Over') But what it missed out in musical numbers it definatly made up for in the dance numbers.
They were amazing, especially during 'June Is Busting Out All Over' and the ballet scene between Louise and the man from the carnival, it was one of the most beautiful moments in the film.
