Review of Captain Kidd (1945) by David E — 10 Apr 2010
Very historically inacurate. Tower Bridge in London was build in 1894 not 1699. The Quedagh Merchant was not blown up off Madagascar. It was taken by Captain Kidd back to New York. The wreckage was discovered in the Carribean in 2007.
The acting was fine and the story,as told, engrossing, but the production was on the poor side. The lighting was terrible for a movie made in 1945.
Overall a decent movie to watch once, but it will be forgetable.
