Review of Cannibal Ferox (1981) by David L — 06 May 2012
Very much along the lines of Cannibal Holocaust - Brutal and shocking. If anything, the grotesque content of this film has surpassed the latter and here I was thinking that wouldn't have been possible.
However, I guess that was based upon the fact that I would never have expected to see someone being castrated, and having their severed penis eaten, or a female being crucified by her mammaries! It's no wonder these films were banned, and still are in some countries.
It's compelling to say the least, although I feel that the intent has now become more focused to shock, than on the actual storyline. Nevertheless, this is an unmissable genre of horror, but not for the faint hearted, or whilst you're having your tea!
