Review of Calibre (2018) by Howard B — 08 Jul 2018
On the plus, it's beautifully directed, acted and the pacing is perfect with a soundtrack that is brilliantly minimalist. So what could be wrong? Well, as clever as it is, the central message of friendship and family feels more tested then proven.
You just don't find yourself caring about the strains between the characters as they are never given time to show a chemistry on screen before the fantastic problems emerge. That said, let yourself follow it and it's a clever little story.
