Review of Caged Fury (1990) by Filmgrinder S — 30 Dec 2011
Caged Fury is a redundant WIP that comes late in the genre that wishes it was half a good as Chained Heat. It even makes reference to it & has our sleazy warden in a brief hot tub scene. While watching this I was thinking it wasn't playing to its strength nearly enough because the great Michael Parks is underutilized & Erik Estrada just wasn't slumming it enough.
.& then a little over half way through its able to find its footing & goes off the cheesy deep end. The violence gets insane w/ a couple of forks to the eyes, hos being gunned down in the cells & Richard Barathy kicking some serious ass.
Hell it even throws Ron Jeremy in for good measure. ..plus the required nudity helps things along. The 2nd half is a gem/the first half not so much.
