Review of Brooklyn (2015) by Jason S — 18 Jan 2016

I went to see this film only because it's nominated for Best Picture. It's simply not my kind of film. After all I don't go to the movies to laugh or cry, I go to be entertained. Well, I laughed, I cried, and I was entertained.

Led by an Oscar-worthy performance from Saoirse Ronan, this film manufactures drama from places where one wouldn't expect drama to exist and conjures laughs from seemingly mundane conversations. Impactful yet subtle I'm shocked to say I loved it.
