Crowley made a beautiful film from Hornby's beautiful script. This is everything great cinema can be: elegant, supple, simple, affecting and life-affirming. Cohen is so good, I fell for him myself and deserved an Oscar nod alongside Ronan.
She, however, deserves the statue for a living, breathing performance of grace and steel.
