This film bears all the hallmarks of a classic British drama, and if that's your thing you'll certainly enjoy this film, whether or not you've seen the original TV drama this film is based on.
Emma Thompson does a great job as always, as does Michel Gambon and the young British actors.
Still, even if you haven't seen the original TV series, you do get the feeling you've seen it all before...
