Review of Breathless (1960) by Darryl J — 17 Apr 2008

This is one of those movies that ,without a doubt, has changed cinema forever. You can see where "Bonnie and Clyde" got all it's inspiration. Godard's direction is magnificent. He was one of the first to have the "handheld camera" look.

Another first is the more famous "jump cuts". It's really jarring the first time it happens but then you just realize how amazing it all is and enjoy it. The story is great and about extremely detached youths basically just trying to either fuck or get money.

There's more to it than that but that's a broad look at it.
