Review of Bramadero (2007) by Qarlos J — 18 May 2011
Once again, director Julian Herandez explores forbidden and passionate love between two young men in the anonymity of Mexico City in a short film. The story has no dialogues and, as usual, the director tries to portray how intimate, beautiful and meaningful homosexual love can be.
However, there seems to be some sort of dejavu here as we've already seen this in previous in much longer flicks by Hernandez. There are more explicit scenes and it doesn't actually transmit anything new to the career of this director.
The topic, man-to-man love, can be exploited in so many ways, but the director seems to cling to his muted formula.
