Review of Birth (1984) by Brian O — 29 Nov 2007
One of the most perfectly composed movies I can think of. The whole thing has the feel of a modern fairy tale. Beautiful cinematography; interesting subject matter; great performances. This film didn't do well when it was released and tends to be looked upon poorly, which really upsets me.
Nicole Kidman's performance was underrated. An amazing piece of cinema that has been wrongly overlooked. I recommend that everyone see this movie with an open mind. One of the best (and oddly most realistic) love stories I've seen on film.
